12.21.2002: Hibernation Appreciation Day

The Leisure Agency's first celebration of Hibernation Appreciation Day went off with a snore and a snuggle today, as Agents and Friends of Leisure welcomed the start of winter from the comfort of their cozy beds. Although work or play called many from their slumber at some point, participants slept late or napped periodically, and some paragons of Leisure spent the entire day beneath the covers, all with the goal of meditating on the sensible approach that many mammals take to the cold, dark months of winter. Although the holiday did not reach the attention of the general public, it can be counted as a success for those in the know, and we are certain that next year, with proper exposure, the movement will grow. Thanks to those who participated, and happy winter to all!
