10.31.2002: The Leisure Agency New York Summit

New York City, Thursday evening: Agent Mike, Captain Glitter Biscuit, Agent Hilatron, and Friend of Leisure Wesley met in Manhattan's Greenwich Village section to represent the Leisure Agency at the 2002 Greenwich Village Halloween Parade. Costumes were donned, silly hats were worn, and leaflets were administered. Below are pictures and descriptions of various Leisure activities.

P
lans for the parade included leafleteering. Agents gained a newfound sympathy for those hardy souls who hand out flyers for a living; while many people, giddy with Halloween excitement, were eager to accept promotional materials, a significant amount of guarded indifference was encountered. Many kindred souls donned exciting and amusing costumes for the parade. A few samples:

Some of the most successful costumes are pair costumes, such as Plug and Outlet, or Thing 1 and Thing 2 (not pictured).

Proof that a costume can be low-effort yet amusing.

Finally, a use for all our plastic insects!

Domo-kun!

Posing for one last shot...

...and making friends.

The festivities didn't end with the parade. On Friday, members of the Leisure Agency met with Friend of Leisure Jayme to assist with the selection of an appropriate last-minute party outfit (requirements: purple, composed of feathers, sporting antennae). Success was celebrated with Avenue A sushi and plum wine.
