It already seems so long ago: Tiki party pictures here.
Posted by hilatron at August 26, 2003 07:31 AM | TrackBackWhat a fabulous Tiki party! I can almost taste the maraschino cherries and smell the spilt rum. But where were the limbo pictures???
Posted by: Amelia at August 26, 2003 09:02 AMOh yeah, those flower curtains were Da Bomb.
Posted by: Amelia at August 26, 2003 09:03 AMDammit! I wanna come to the next one. Or can I hire you to decorate my "No Theme Like a Drinking Theme" Party?
Posted by: Tyger at August 26, 2003 10:48 AMI may not have made it into the pictures, but be assured that I looked HOT. And by that I mean all red in the face from the rum.
Posted by: EV at August 26, 2003 10:49 AMI can't let you get away with that, Ev. You were super hot, in the va-va-voom way. I really wish I had been more careful about taking pictures of everyone; I can never find the happy medium between enjoying the party and obsessively documenting everything to the point where I miss out on the fun.
Amelia: thanks! I'm glad the scissor calluses were worth it.
Tyger: talk to me, girl! I am pretty sure that theme parties are the most fun ever, and if someone else is paying for the decorations, so much the better!
Posted by: Hilatron at August 26, 2003 11:22 AMlooks excellent! wish i could have made it, i loves me a good mai tai!
Posted by: mike at August 26, 2003 03:12 PMFor the record, I don't drink rum 'cause a) the first time I ever drank I had rum, then broke out in hives the next day, and b) the taste doesn't particularly appeal to me.
Besides, we both know that drinking mai tais does not go hand in hand with maintaining a sane blood sugar level -- let alone the risk of being too drunk to keep an eye on my blood sugar level and ending up in the hospital with ketoacidosis. Do you really want to take me to the hospital during yet another social gathering?
Yeah, that's what I thought. :-P
Anyway, the party rocked, and it was great to see all of Hilary's hard work ('cause let's face it, I'm a big slack bastard, and hardly understand the concept of decorating for a party) pay off. Many props to her for the dedication, and thanks all around to the people who showed up. I'm glad people had a good time.
